Description

Welcome to Continuing Professional Training for 2023

Sworn officers and troopers who graduated from an academy in 2022 or earlier are required to take 24 hours of advanced training in 2023. The courses included in this catalog fulfill the 2023 requirements for 8 topic hours from the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC). The additional 16 hours will be uploaded here throughout the year. The hours of CPT can be completed within the broad categories approved by OPOTC.

Additional 16 hours of topics approved for CPT

 

Other OPOTA Online courses may be used to fulfill the 16 hours of general CPT credit if approved by the appointing authority.  If a peace officer took a course in 2022 or before, taking it in a previous year does not qualify for 2023 CPT credit.

Ensuring the safety of Ohio’s schools encompasses multiple components, including: • Physical security • Emergency management • Violence prevention in the form of a threat assessment process
Part 1 of 3 | This course provides updated information on relevant legislation that went into effect in the past year, as well as case law important to law enforcement.
Part 2 of 3 | This course continues what was covered in Part 1, providing updated information on relevant legislation that went into effect in the past year, as well as case law important to law enforcement.
Part 3 of 3. This course continues what was covered in Parts 2 and 3, providing updated information on relevant legislation that went into effect in the past year, as well as case law important to law enforcement.
