These courses provide basic, but important knowledge on a variety of topics important to law enforcement. Each course can be completed in 15 minutes or less and is designed to be fully compatible with mobile devices. .25 credits | This course discusses when a law enforcement officer has probable cause to stop an operator for distracted driving, and details an officer’s duties and responsibilities during the stop. It is based on legislation that made changes to the revised code under Senate Bill 288 in 2023. 07/23
.25 credits | NIBIN is the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network and is an automated ballistic-imaging tool that allows for the comparison of fired cartridge cases in order to link crimes involving the same firearm. This course allows you to learn policies and best practices for NIBIN as well as understand how to collect and submit NIBIN evidence.  04/23
.25 credits | This course allows you to learn how to properly swab firearms for DNA evidence collection for NIBIN. .50 credits | Safe at Home is an address confidentiality program that provides substitute addresses, mail forwarding, and confidential voter registration for individuals who are survivors of domestic violence, stalking, human trafficking, rape, and sexual battery. This course allows you to learn the details of the program so that you can help to protect abuse survivors.
This course explains Senate Bill 215, a major change in Ohio law that allows otherwise-eligible adults to carry a handgun in a concealed manner without the need of first obtaining a license. *Please note that this course contains limited audio.* Completing this course earns you 0.5 credits (hours).
