Courses included in this catalog fulfill the 2025 mandatory 8 topic hours from the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC). 

Courses
This course provides updated information on relevant legislation that went into effect in the past year, as well as case law important to law enforcement. (2 CH | 2025 CPT)
This course will provide law enforcement officers with legal updates regarding modern policing. While it is designed as an advanced training course, there will be consistent connections with the POBT 2-3 Arrest, Search, and Seizure course. This course takes approximately 1 hour to complete over 4 modules. (1 CH | 2025 CPT)
This course will focus on Ohio Ethics law, because ethical behavior is the cornerstone of an officer’s duty. Course work will identify the officer’s role in relation to ethics within legal organizations and the greater community. Officers will understand what constitutes ethical attitudes, and how those attitudes affect their actions, both on and off duty. Students will examine scenarios and formulate strategies to make appropriate decisions. (2 CH | CPT 2025)
In this lesson, we examine the legal foundations of police use of force, how it relates to persons in crisis, and discuss how use of force decisions are made in the field. (3 CH | 2025 CPT)
